Rochester Institute of Technology

This privately endowed university was founded in 1829 in Rochester New York. In 2010, the university had over 14,000 undergraduate students, almost 3,000 graduate students and over a 1,000 full-time faculty members. It has colleges for applied science and technology, science and liberal arts as well as professional colleges in business and engineering. Its National Technical Institute for the Deaf provides support for students with hearing loss both to assist with their academic achievements and future careers. Rochester has been recognized as a top American university by the Princeton Review, BusinessWeek, and Forbes Magazine.
