University of Chicago

The University of Chicago is a private research university with a strong focus on the sciences. In 2008 it spent $423.7million on scientfific research.

Chicago staff and students have been involved in leading scientific research including the physics that led to the world first man-made, self-sustained nuclear reaction.  The University is also home to the largest university press in the USA.
