Ei-ichi Negishi

Ei-ichi Negishi is a Japanese chemist who is a co-recipient of 2010 Nobel Prize for chemistry in Sweden for his discovery of the Negishi Coupling.

Ei-ichi Negishi became a postdoctoral associate at Purdue University and was appointed as assistant to Professor H. C. Brown’s in 1968. During his postdoc years he began investigating various C—C bond forming reactions of organoboranes. In 2000 he was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Sir Edward Frankland Prize Lectureship.
